RFR 19: Dr. Joseph Pizzorno
Thursday Apr 23, 2015
Thursday Apr 23, 2015
In Episode 18 of The Real Food Reel we have Dr. Joseph Pizzorno, one of the world’s leading authorities on science-based natural and integrative medicine. A naturopathic physician, educator and researcher, Dr Pizzorno is in Australia this month, to speak at the 3rd BioCeuticals Research Symposium, titled Interrelated Drivers of Health and Disease.
According to Dr. Pizzorno, toxic load in modern civilisation is even more important than nutritional deficiencies in terms of causing diseases. Research indicates that environmental toxins increase the chance of developing most chronic diseases, such as Type 2 diabetes, and people in the top 10% of toxic exposure can have a 20 fold increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Pizzorno and I dive in deep here, so sit back and enjoy the show.

Thursday Mar 12, 2015
In Episode 13 of The Real Food Reel we are joined by Damon Gameau, producer and actor of That Sugar Film.
That Sugar Film is a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, where over 60 days Damon consumes the Australian average of 40 teaspoons of sugar per day, eating only foods that are commonly perceived as ‘healthy’.
The results are proof of the message we have been delivering for years – sugar is the problem and packaged food products as a rule, are not healthy.
Let’s find out more about That Sugar Film and why this project is already taking Australia by storm, even though cinemas tours have only just commenced.
